New School Construction
Israel and his team are busy finishing the new school! Most of the heavy lifting is complete and they are working on the finishing touches. The tile floors in the bathrooms and office are being installed along with the bathroom fixtures. Each bathroom has 3 separate stalls for each gender. There are spaces for storage, a kitchen and an office. We are hoping to hire a teacher soon. Furniture and books are next. We are planning to be ready for the start of the school year in January to welcome students!
The pipes have been laid to bring water to the building. We are working on bringing a dedicated electrical line to the area. This is a little more difficult and expensive. A transformer will be added to bring electricity to serve the school and all of the homes to be built in the area. This is the best way to ensure consistent electricity to the buildings in the future.

Inaugural Golf Tournament
The A’KALA Family Foundation golf tournament, sponsored by Wilford, Lake Waconia was cancelled due to rain. We will be rescheduling the event to next summer. If you registered for the event, you will be automatically registered for next year. Check back to this page for the new date! This is a great opportunity to get a team together from your mission trip and see others who have traveled to Guatemala with A’KALA. Even if you haven’t been on trip, it’s a fun event and we would love to see you there! The tournament will be held at Shadowbrooke Golf Course in Lester Prairie MN on a date to be determined. $80 per person or $320 per team, includes Golf Cart, Lunch and Events/Prizes for a 4-person scramble.

The San Lucas Sponsor is $250. You’ll see your logo/business on one of the holes, your logo included in the event banner and exposure on social media.
The Toliman Sponsor is $550 and it includes a 4-person team entry in the tournament, your logo/business on one of the holes, your logo included in the event banner and exposure on social media.
